Give Yourself the Gift Of Rest
About the Episode:
I know the holiday season can bring up a lot of emotions for many of us. It can feel magical and bright. And lonely and dark.
It can feel overwhelming at times and underwhelming at other times.
We can hold expectations about what the holidays and this time of year should look and feel like. We are certainly marketed visions of this regularly.
It can feel upsetting and isolating when our expectations don’t match our reality.
What do you want this holiday season to feel like?
In some ways, I think this year offers another opportunity for us to check-in with ourselves to see how we want this holiday season to look and feel.
What are the values and the intentions that you want to put front and center as you move through the holiday season?
For me personally, I love to spend this time of year slowing down, reflecting and dreaming. There’s something about the short days and long nights that makes this feel very restorative to me.
It’s also an opportunity to look for the light and the magic that exists within us and each other.
But…in many ways, this feels like the opposite of what I should be doing.
In this week’s podcast episode I share why I’m choosing to honor my needs and carve out time for rest and recovery. I touch on why it can be so challenging for so many of us to set boundaries.
I share my twist on boundary setting and explain why I think this is especially important for those of us who can slip into perfectionist and people-pleasing tendencies.
Since I won’t be in your inbox or earbuds for a few weeks, I wanted to leave you with some guided reflection questions to help you set your vision for 2021. I share a few in this episode, but you can subscribe to my newsletter to receive a PDF copy.
I hope you find some time to pause and take some time for yourself these next few weeks! I look forward to seeing you in the New Year!!
Wishing you a very safe, happy and healthy holiday season!
